CRWR 317 - Between Lyric and Narrative: Transitional Prose Forms

In this course, we will look at free verse narratives, prose poems, lyric vignettes, short shorts, and modulator prose forms. Readings will be selected from a diverse group of contemporary writers. The weekly writing exercises will require creative responses in the forms being studied, building over the course of the term to longer prose narratives. A portfolio of four to five shorter pieces, a mid-length piece, and a longer narrative will be required at the end of term.
