PHYS 103 - Elementary Physics I

An introduction to classical mechanics, fluids, waves, and optics, intended primarily for students majoring in the life or earth sciences, but also accessible to non-science majors having good high-school mathematics preparation; those planning to major in physics should take PHYS 110 instead. Algebra and trigonometry are used extensively. Students must register for both lecture and laboratory.

This course is appropriate for new students.
