An introduction to statistics and, in particular, linear models. Topics covered include exploratory data analysis, probability, sampling, estimation, statistical inference, multiple regression, one-factor and multi-factor analysis of variance, and analysis of categorical data via logistic regression. Statistical software is used heavily. This class reviews everything from the AP Statistics curriculum before continuing to more advanced topics. Takes the place of the STAT 113, STAT 213 sequence. Students must have scored 3 or higher on the Statistics AP Exam, have some comfort with introductory statistics, or have a strong mathematical background (even with no statistics background). This course was formerly taught as STAT 215.
