DANC 332 - Varsity Contact

This course is both an advanced seminar, complete with group projects and reflective writing, and a team sport. Inspired by our readings in the history of the form and by our collaborations with various artists, we will create a community event to welcome contacters from around the region. The members of the course will train to become highly articulate dancers and extraordinary ensemble improvisers. Together we will deal with the place of contact improvisation in the 21st century and confront the inevitable contradictions between virtuosity and curiosity.

Prerequisites: DANC 132.
