While taking account of the contribution of individuals such as Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Titian, and the woman artist Sofonisba Anguissola, we will also consider the art of this period within the broader context of political, social, and scientific developments. We will conclude with an examination of the art of the next generation, the style known today as Mannerism.
