PHIL 126 - Human Nature and MoralityFC ARHU 4 credits This course introduces students to central questions about human nature and the objectivity of morality. To what extent are our values shaped by nature (evolution) or nurture (upbringing in a culture)? Should we think of humans as capable of determining for themselves what really matters? Do right and wrong vary from culture to culture, just like norms of fashion and etiquette? Or can we, through rational inquiry, discover objective truths about how we should live our lives?
This course is appropriate for new students.
