MUTH 102 - Aural Skills II

Continuation of MUTH 101. Topics include arpeggiation of all diatonic triads, the leading-tone seventh chord, and the Neopolitan and augmented-sixth chords; major-minor mode mixture; tonicization of or modulation to V in major and III in minor; diatonic sequences; more elaborate divisions of the beat; polyrhythm; small binary forms; and introduction to the alto clef. Preference given to students for whom aural skills is a required subject.

Prerequisites: MUTH 101 and ESOL 120 (for students in ESOL sequence).
