PACE 102 - Community Engagement MusiciansFC CNDP 4 credits Conservatory students and musical studies majors in the College are invited to enroll in this PACE course, which will examine community engagement at an introductory level. Students will learn about teaching artistry, service learning, and best practices for partnering with a community organization. Professional development topics such as grant writing, non-profit funding, and professionalism with community partners will be covered. Students will examine a range of community engagement models, and are expected to undertake a co-created project with their community partner. Students are expected to spend 3-4 hours per week on readings, reflections, and their semester-long project that they will carry out with their community partner. Students will present the work that they’ve completed at the end of the semester in a final project presentation that will be open to the public.
