THEA 371 - Consent and Sexuality in TheaterFC ARHU 4 credits How do we tell stories of intimacy in the aftermath of the #MeTooMovement? What are the strengths and limitations of consent discourse for addressing sexual violence? This course investigates these questions of consent and sexuality through the lens of theatrical performance. In this creative and critical course, we will examine intimacy and power in contemporary plays, and will also learn best practices for staging intimacy in theater and film, know as “intimacy choreography.” Students will gain an understanding of queer, intersectional, and postcolonial frameworks for sexual justice.
