ARST 112 - Introduction to Color in ContextFC ARHU 4 credits In this course, students will acquire increased awareness of the properties of color–hue, chroma, value–and how their formal elements, including placement and design qualities, give meaning and content to works of art. Projects will explore how color operates in public, social, historical, and political contexts. Students will work in mediums including (but not limited to) gouache, acrylic, and collage. Preference will be given to students who have taken ARST 110 (ARTS 040). Field trip(s) required. This course was formerly taught as ARTS 058.
This course is appropriate for new students.
