POLT 113 - Comparative Politics of Developing Countries
FCSSCICD4 credits In this course, we will analyze topics that are central to understanding the politics across the developing world, including the importance and origins of institutions, democratic and authoritarian regimes, the role of the state, political representation and accountability, clientelism, and political violence. By focusing on the research being done on the politics of developing countries by political scientists and other social scientists, the course hopes to introduce several methodological approaches to tackle challenging questions.
