FYSP 096 - The Art of Social Work

Art and social work contribute to the betterment of society. This seminar explores making and engaging with art as an avenue of self-expression and positive social change. We will study core social work values and explore the powerful role of art in personal and social healing. Students will engage in creative and analytical projects exploring historical and literary texts as well as visual arts. On field trips and in class visits, students will meet artists, writers, and social service professionals from the Oberlin community and across our region. Field trip(s) required.
