A survey of European and American concert and stage music in the 20th century. Topics include modernism, neoclassicism, Harlem renaissance, serialism, electronic music, indeterminacy, minimalism, performance art, and post-modernism, among others.

Prerequisites: MUTH 132 and ESOL 130 (for students in ESOL sequence).
