ARST 158 - Introduction to Digital PaintingFC ARHU 4 credits This course explores digital painting through a blend of digital tools and traditional media, including acrylic paint and dry media. Students will engage in creating both tangible, physically painted works and digital pieces, such as animations and rotoscoped art. Utilizing iPads, Adobe software, and scanners, projects will traverse the boundaries between digital and analog mediums. The course emphasizes painterly techniques such as color manipulation, light dynamics, and expressive mark-making. By examining the work of contemporary artists and producing their own digital paintings, students will delve into the expanded definition of painting and engage in ongoing critical discussions about its nature.
This course is appropriate for new students.
