MATH 130 - Foundations for CalculusFC NSMA QFR 4 credits A foundational course for calculus of functions of one variable. Topics include functions, inequalities, polynomials, exponentials, logarithms, trigonometry, polar coordinates, complex numbers, systems of equations, sequences, and series. Students will develop quantitative skills and mathematical proficiency, confidence, and persistence in problem solving. This course is intended to prepare students for success in Calculus I (MATH 133). Recommended Preparation: high school experience with algebra, functions, and other precalculus topics.
This course is appropriate for new students.
