CIME 189 - Cinematography and the Craft of Cinematic Storytelling

The purpose of this course is to actively gain an understanding of cinematography for narrative, documentary and television production. We will cover foundation skills with camera, lenses, lighting and sound. Further study will include developing an eye for composition and an understanding of using the camera as a narrative tool that can be applied to a variety of projects and genres. We will cover the responsibilities of a Director of Photography along with general knowledge of crew positions and how to work on a film set. This is a hands on, workshop style class where attendance is mandatory.
