POLT 117 - Power in Political EconomyFC SSCI 4 credits Economics is a language of power. This course will introduce key terms and historicize key theories in comparative and international political economy. Topics include: varieties of capitalism, international trade, financialization, and development. Scientific texts will be read alongside workers’ own accounts. Assignments include analysis of commodity chains and documenting of contemporary labor practices in the world economy.
This course is appropriate for new students.
