HISP 360 - Latin American Feminisms: Debates, Dialogues, and Communal ExperiencesHC ARHU CD 2 credits This course will examine theoretical and experiential approaches to contemporary feminist debates and practices in Latin America, born from a decolonial, anti-racist, anti-capitalist perspective. We will pay attention to how thinkers and activists build their circuits of knowledge production, distance from dominant narratives and genealogies, and address the disruption and effects of colonization. We will explore these topics through the works of María Lugones, Yuderkis Espinosa, Ochi Curiel, Rita Segato, Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui, and Breny Mendoza, among others. Taught in Spanish.
Prerequisites: HISP 304 or equivalent.
