CRWR 254 - Poetry and the Body

The body often serves as dynamic subject matter in our poetry, but it is also the interface through which we interact with the page, screen, spoken word, or performed poem. This course will investigate varied relationships between poetry and the body. Students will write and workshop their own poems, as well as engage with differently embodied approaches to poetry - both on and off the page. Course texts will include selected poems, collections of poetry, and relevant critical essays to guide our discussions.
