SOCI 225 - Comparative FascismFC SSCI 4 credits This intermediate-level course examines fascist ideology, movements, and regimes through a comparative and historical perspective. Topics to be examined: the definition of fascism; the origin of fascist ideology and movements; sociological theories of fascism; the evolution of fascist regimes; the relationship between historical fascism and contemporary right-wing movements. Includes extensive use of documentary and feature films. First-year students must obtain instructor consent.
Prerequisites: An introductory-level sociology, history, or political science course.
