NSCI 158 - Food and the BrainFC NSMA 4 credits Food is necessary for survival, but it is also essential to human culture. This course explores how your brain allows you to perceive the flavor of your food, enjoy the pleasure of a scrumptious meal, and know when you should stop eating. Additionally, we’ll discuss how your diet leads to healthy (or not!) neural functioning and all the communication between the brain and body that allows us to eat for health and enjoyment. This course is intended for any student exploring an interest in Neuroscience and is ideal for intended Neuroscience major or non-STEM majors completing their distribution requirements. Students do not need a previous background in STEM, and all relevant background information will be covered in class.
This course is appropriate for new students.
