CIME 115 - Film Production Studio: Camera, Lighting, Sound, Editing

In this course, students will actively learn the fundamental technical skills of filmmaking for narrative, documentary, experimental, and television productions. Students will acquire foundational skills in directing, cinematography (cameras, lenses, lighting), sound, and editing. Additionally, students will develop an eye for composition and for using the camera as a narrative tool across a variety of projects and genres. Students will also gain a general knowledge of key crew positions and of how to work on a film set. They will learn the process of post-production and acquire a basic knowledge of how to edit in Premiere Pro, build timeline structures for narrative and documentary, mix audio, title, and color grade. This is a hands-on workshop that implements group Project Based Learning and in which attendance is mandatory. CIME 115 is the prerequisite for all 300-level CIME production courses.

This course is appropriate for new students.
