SOCI 400 - Sociology CapstoneFC SSCI 4 credits This capstone is a requirement for sociology majors, to be taken their senior year. This course is divided into three main sections. First, the course will cover professionalization including career goals and trajectories, job market preparation, and post-graduate education options and opportunities. Second, the course will provide a meta-reflection of the sociology major. Students will reexamine foundational sociological concepts and texts, examining these topics at an advanced level. The last section of the course will cover recently published and/or award-winning sociological monographs. In seminar style, we will examine each book for its effectiveness regarding methods, theory, and extending sociological knowledge.
Prerequisites: SOCI 301, SOCI 302, and SOCI 303.
