ARST 821 - Intro to Painting: Representation to Abstract Exploration
FCARHU4 credits Students will dive into the dynamic world of abstract painting with this comprehensive introductory course. This course is an approach to understanding and practicing abstraction, guiding students through the evolution from representational to abstract forms. Students will utilize acrylic paint and experiment with color, form, and composition with an emphasis on painterly techniques and encourage personal expression through representational and non-representational paintings. By studying contemporary artists and creating their own pieces, students will explore the expanded boundaries of painting and engage in critical discussions about its evolving nature.
