Topics include analog electronics, connections, levels, amplification, gain staging, an overview of all the components involved in the digital conversion, clocking, formatting, and processing of digital audio. These essential concepts are crucial to providing the highest quality audio in any situation, while understanding the limitations and risks inherent in digital systems. AES formats, jitter, sample rate conversion, bit depth quantization, dither and noise shaping.

Prerequisites: RAPR 202 Intro to Mixing and Mastering.
