AAST 201 - From Reconstruction to the Information Age: African American History 1865 - 2000
FCSSCICD4 credits This course examines the history of African Americans in the United States from the Reconstruction Period to the dawn of the twenty-first century. It examines the cyclical nature of American racial history highlighting periods of progression followed by eras of regression. Students will evaluate the theories and methodologies Black people developed to challenge racial animus and achieve full legal citizenship and reckon with the evolving nature of racism in American society.
