CIME 248 - Belonging: Socially Engaged Multi-Media Art Making

In this course, we will investigate the concept of belonging through a variety of multimedia approaches. We will start by exploring our own sense of belonging to ourselves and our class using photography and audio. We will then expand our exploration outwards to the greater Oberlin community, bringing in street art, music, and social sculpture to create site-specific projects that blur the lines between creator and audience in order to engender a greater sense of belonging. Seniors can enroll only once the semester begins.

This course is appropriate for new students.
