EXCO 158 - MurderCo

Murderco is intended to give students a comprehensive understanding of ten American murder cases. The class will meet for two hours a week, with the first hour being dedicated to lecture and the second being dedicated to class discussion. The ten cases covered will be: OJ Simpson, Columbine, the Menendez brothers, Gypsy Rose Blanchard, Jeffery Dahmer, the murder of Emmett Till by Roy Bryant and JW Milam, Casey Anthony, Charles Manson, Ed Gein and finally we will cover the murders that took place during the Memorial Hospital Hurricane Katrina disaster. PLEASE NOTE: This class will contain in depth discussions of upsetting and potentially triggering content including but not limited to sexual violence, child abuse, mental illness, torture, lynching, and, of course, murder and violence. Self care is encouraged and no student will ever be penalized for looking after their own mental well-being. I personally will put forward my best effort to make the classroom a safe and healthy environment.
