EXCO 626 - Music Production 101

Haven’t been able to get into a TIMARA class? Overwhelmed by production software? Not know what a compressor does? This class will teach how to produce music from your bedroom. All skill levels are welcome as we will begin by covering the basics of how music production software works and continue on to how to actually record a song of your own. We will delve into other topics such as EQ, compression, mixing, and the creativity behind production. This class is intended to make the world of music production less overwhelming and encourage everyone (including women) to express themselves through sonic art. Students will receive feedback and guidance on projects of their own as part of the class. Classes will mostly be lecture based, but also include time for sharing and feedback for projects.
