This is a 1-credit academic course that aims to explore and engage students in two of Booktoks biggest novels: The Empyrean Series and LightLark Saga. Both books have garnered immense attention among readers because of their captivating societal dynamics, nuanced character developments, and a mixture of fantasy and romance. The Empyrean Series by Rebecca Yarros centers on a fantasy world where the complexity of characters is contested as they explore political interests, magical elements, enchanted realms, and mystical creatures. In contrast, Alex Aster’s LightLark Saga offers a spellbinding journey through a world of magic, mystery, and adventure, centralizing the topic of ancient curses and the quest for redemption.
