EXCO 833 - AcroCo

1 credit
This course is a 1-credit practicum in tumbling and acrobatics at the introductory level. Acrobatics is a highly energetic discipline combining power, flexibility, and creativity. This course will expose students to basic movements in tumbling and acrobatics, including front and back tumbling with an emphasis on handstands and cartwheels, along with introductory partner and group acrobatics. Students will build up a repertoire of movements from both tumbling and acrobatics that will allow them to execute basic tumbling passes and acrobatic routines. Students will also have the opportunity to explore movements and skills based on their interests in each class, in order to further develop their personal tumbling and acrobatic abilities. At the end of the semester, there will be an in-class showcase for people to demonstrate their new skills (see evaluation/assignments for more details). There will also be an (optional) opportunity to perform with O!Circus in the fall show.
