EXCO 430 - SurvivorCo

SurvivorCo will be your guide to becoming an expert on the CBS reality competition TV show “Survivor.” In class we will discuss a variety of important social issues that appear in the show, we will hear from two very special guest speakers (hint: a Survivor fan favorite!), and at the start of the course students will be divided into tribes to participate in a series of survivor-like challenges. Through participating in class discussions and activities, reading a few assigned articles, viewing episodes of the show, and watching video essays from former contestants, students will have the opportunity to look critically at the social dynamics, physical adversity, and strategic elements of Survivor to gain ALL the skills they will need to be the Sole Survivor Super Fan.
