EXCO 623 FA - Steel Pan ExCo

1 credit
Students will learn and play various steel pans, as well as the engine room (auxiliary percussion). We will learn around 3-4 songs, with students rotating instruments on each song. The ExCo culminates in a performance with Oberlin Steel at the end of the semester at the Cat in the Cream. There will also be an academic component of the course featuring students completing research projects before giving presentations on a variety of topics, including listening to music, learning more about Trinidad, and the history and world of steel pan!
