HIST 399 - Narrating the Archives: Local Voices & Global Collections
FCSSCICDWADV4 credits This practicum is an advanced research course that introduces students to using archives as both sites of research and objects of study. This practicum teaches students how historians maneuver and decipher the materials they find in archives, grappling with challenges, frustration, and joy as they do research for extended periods at the site of a local or global archive. Final projects will be grounded in original archival research and can take the form of a conventional seminar paper or a digital project such as digital museum, GIS/mapping, podcast, short documentary video, zine, etc.
