REEE 411 - Special Topics: Russophone Women’s Voices
FCARHUCD4 credits This course aims to help advanced learners refine their command of written and spoken Russian by exploring the Russophone world through the eyes of contemporary women writers, journalists, video bloggers, actresses, film directors, and LGBTQ activists. The course material reflects recent political trends, including attempts to resist the regime, adapt to the current reality, and emigrate from Russia. Intensive readings and writings in Russian and hands-on projects at the end of the course. In Russian with occasional forays into English. This course is repeatable with a change in topic.
Prerequisites: RUSS 305 or (306 (may be taken concurrently)). This course is appropriate for new students based on placement exam.
