This course examines free improvisation through theory and implementation. Practical and conceptual topics will be examined through readings, written coursework, structured improvisation assignments, listening and discussion, as well as in-class improvisation exercises and coaching. Students are expected to play in class every week, and engage in class discussion and lectures.
