COMP 311 - Orchestration

The purpose of this course is to develop facility in writing for various instrumental combinations. The study includes: comparison of techniques of orchestration (18th to 20th centuries); practice writing and arranging for the different choirs of the modern orchestra; orchestrating complete compositions; and score and part notation and preparation.

Prerequisites: COMP 211.
