HISP 462 - Ghosts, Spirits and Specters in Hispanic Narratives
FCARHUCDWADV4 credits While dominant narratives often exclude stories of those violently silenced, the very absence of these voices can be a powerful force, compelling us to examine social power dynamics that perpetuate their invisibility. In this class, we’ll explore how ghosts, spirits, and specters can represent the lingering effects of past traumas while also considering their potential to illuminate paths toward transgenerational truth, justice, and closure. Taught in Spanish.
Prerequisites: Two Spanish-taught 300 level HISP courses.
