EVSS 212 - Logistical Worlds: Nature, Capital, PowerFC SSCI CD 4 credits What are supply chains? They bring us our electronics, the clothes we wear, the food we eat, and the materials we use to build our cities. They shape our daily lives, yet are mostly invisible. This course delves into the inner workings and violent origins of supply chains, examining how they have transformed nature, work, and consumer life at a global scale. Reading across the social sciences and humanities, and watching documentary films, we will analyze the environments, labor processes, and political-economic theories that constitute supply-chain capitalism. Crucially, we will also explore social movements that aim to disrupt logistical circulation.
