Stories about King Arthur and his knights have been popular favorites from the Middle Ages to our own day. The legend has been represented across the arts, in dozens of languages, in high and pop culture, as comedy and as tragedy. Rather than attempting to cover this vast and diverse tradition, the course will introduce a variety of key texts and genres (e.g., medieval romance, poetry, children’s literature, film) and methods of analysis.

This course is appropriate for new students.
