PHIL 214 - Philosophy in the Schools (PHITS) PracticumFC ARHU 4 credits This course gives students a community-engaged way to develop their philosophical skills and understanding by teaching philosophy in the Oberlin City Schools. Students will design lesson plans for activity-based, team-taught classes on a wide range of topics. Topics include the meaning of life, environmental ethics, the foundations of knowledge, and personal identity. In addition to pedagogy, this course involves seminar discussion of philosophical texts and written analysis.
Prerequisites: one course in PHIL. Community-Based Learning
