CHEM 051 - Chemistry and the EnvironmentFC NSMA QFR 4 credits An introduction to fundamental chemical principles through the study of environmental systems. Chemistry concepts will be developed in the context of air and water chemistry, climate change, energy production, and ubiquitous anthropogenic pollutants. Students will also examine the scientific and societal dimensions of environmental issues through case studies. This course is designed for students with little to no prior chemistry background; therefore it is not appropriate for students who have previously completed, or are currently enrolled in, CHEM courses at the 100-level or above.
