Thermodynamics, introduction to statistical thermodynamics, and kinetic theory. Application of mathematical methods and physical principles to chemistry. Students must register for both lecture and laboratory.

Prerequisites: CHEM 102 and (PHYS 111 or PHYS 104) and MATH 134.
