MUSY 101 - Introduction to the History and Literature of MusicFC CNDP 4 credits This course is an introductory survey of the major developments in Western court, church, and concert music from the last 1,500 years. Selected musical works will be considered from a variety of historical and contextual perspectives, including musicology and ethnomusicology. Students will gain insight into the mechanics and development of music within culture, and the institutions required to perpetuate and support it.
Prerequisites: ESOL 130 (for students in ESOL sequence).
