TECH 101 - Introduction to Electronic Music

This course offers an introduction to electronic music. Practical work includes sound editing, digital audio, MIDI, virtual instruments, and mixing on the computer. Regular short assignments reinforce skills with the standard tools of the digital audio workstation. Creative projects include recording assignments, short etudes, and sound design studies, and present the opportunity to demonstrate technical proficiency and musical creativity. The course includes a reading and listening survey of historical and contemporary electronic music practice.
