TECH 170 - Electronic Music for Performers

This course explores the intersection of live instrumental performance and electronic music production, offering students a hands-on introduction to the art of performing electronic music with live instruments. Students will develop practical skills performing with electronics and learn about historical and contemporary approaches. Topics include learning to integrate acoustic and electronic elements, using music production software, and operating hardware such as MIDI controllers. The coursework is designed to deepen creative, collaborative, and critical approaches to performance by integrating work from electronic music history, theory, analysis, score interpretation, aesthetics, composition, and performance.
