FYSP 068 - Mind, Brains, Machines: How Brains and AI Learn, Adapt, and FailFC SSCI QFR WINT 4 credits Your brain is the most complex machine in the known universe. Have we just built its first real competitor? In an era defined by rapid technological shifts, understanding how we learn is just as vital as what we learn. This seminar dives into the high-stakes parallels between human neurobiology and artificial intelligence. We will explore how both systems build “prototypes” of reality, why the very process of learning inevitably creates bias, and how our environment, including digital inputs, can physically “prune” our neural pathway – much like the famous “Vertical Cat” experiments of the 1970s.
