Music is a critical component of multimedia, defining meaning and expressing emotion to guide our response to images. Through critical reading, listening, and viewing, students will become familiar with influential theories of musical representation, common compositional strategies for scene-building, and analytical modes of criticism and interpretation of film, television, and video game music from the 20th and 21st centuries.
