LING 302 - Phonetics

Deceptively simple, human speech and the processes of producing and hearing it are surprisingly complex. This course invites students to phonetics - the scientific study of the production, transmission, and perception of speech sounds. Students will learn the physiological and acoustic foundations of speech sounds, have hands-on experience analyzing and synthesizing speech, and apply knowledge about speech to social issues and technology.

Prerequisites: ANTH 202.
