Students learn fundamentals of making physical objects through core tools of 3D design, with assignments emphasizing technical development. Through approaches such as wood-working, digital fabrication, and fibers, students build a versatile toolbox of 3D skills. Class sessions include demonstrations, lectures, discussions, and critiques. Students are expected to complete assignments outside of class time. Each foundations module is offered during the first and second half of the semester, and students are strongly encouraged to take two different foundations modules within a single semester.
